We are excited to share with you the next phase of a building addition for Orange City Christian School. We were blessed during the 2019-20 school year to complete Phase 1 of Project Engage, which gave us two new classrooms, a new music room, and additional storage in the building.

As our enrollment continues to grow and we look to meet the current and future needs of the school, a task force was created to determine the steps for what the next phase of expansion may look like. On June 15, 2022, our society met and passed the plan with an 84% vote in favor of moving forward with the plan.

As fundraising progressed, it was clear that the plans needed to be adjusted to meet the more immediate needs of the school. On May 9, 2024, the society met again to review and discuss the plans for renovation/addition. The Phase 1 renovation of existing interior space passed with an 89% approval rate while the Phase 2 building addition passed with an 84% approval rate.

Once funds are raised, the Phase 2 of the project is projected to take approximately 18 months to complete.

Due to fluctuating construction costs, the new proposed remodel/addition would cost between $9.3 and $11.4 million.

Once the money raised/pledged reaches 50-75% of the overall cost of the project, the board will present the project for bid. To break ground, 75% of funds must be pledged or in hand in order to begin work on the project.

Typically, we would welcome absentee ballots from society members that cannot be physically present for the meeting and vote. However, in this case we would like you to see and hear all the details before deciding if this plan meets the current and future needs of our school. If you have questions about the project and are unable to be present at the meeting, we encourage you to contact us anytime.
