  • Unity Christian Kids Cheer Camp

    Who: Kids in grades 3-8 (Fall ‘24)
    What: 2024 UC CHEER Kids Camp
    Where: NWC football field
    When: Friday, October 11, 2024 Begins at 4:00 PM/Ends after half-time of the football game (Parent provides transportation to and from DeValois Field in Orange City)
    Cost: $45, includes food and drink, UC CHEER shirt, and cheer bow
    What to wear: dress for the weather...it can be tricky in Iowa. Dark pants and a dark long sleeve t-shirt/sweatshirt are recommended but not required, an ear warmer/ headband may also be worn if necessary. Athletic footwear is required. Participants should arrive with a high ponytail already in place if the hair is long enough to be worn that way.
    Deadline to register: September 20, 2024
    Payment: Checks to UC CHEER on or before September 20.
    Or Venmo @Jenness-Wolgen and include “UC CHEER” in the memo line.
    Performance: October 11th at halftime of the Unity Christian Varsity football game

  • Jr. Knights Girls Basketball Registration - Grades 5-8

    Information on Jr. Knights Girls Basketball:
    Practices:
    Practice and open gyms start the first week in October and wrap up the first part of January. The schedule will be posted online on the Junior Knight’s web page which can be accessed by going to Unity Christian’s website. Practices will either be at Unity Christian or at Orange City Christian.
    Tournament recommendations:  
    5th Grade: Scrimmages and no more than 2 tournaments.
    6th Grade: Scrimmages and no more than 4 tournaments.  
    7th & 8th Grade:  Scrimmages and no more than 6 tournaments. 
    Playing time:
    5th grade we recommend equal playing time and equal teams.  
    6th grade we recommend equal playing time and equal teams for most of the season. Our recommendation at the end of the season would be to put together a competitive team to take to the final tournament. High school coaches will have input for the final team. 
    7th & 8th grades we recommend competitive teams and playing time.
    Kids can earn less playing time for poor attitudes & effort or missing practice.  
    *High school coaches will have input on the skills, offense and defense taught to the Jr. Knights teams.

    7th Grade $75
    8th Grade $75

    Grades 3-5 - 4:30-6:00pm
    Grades 6-8 - 6:15-8:00pm
