Education Background: I received a BA degree in elementary education with an endorsement to teach middle school math and language arts. I graduated from Dordt University in 2022.
Professional Experience: I took part in the PDS (Professional Development School) program through Dordt University. This program allows for student teaching to be done all school year and at the same school. I was blessed to be able to do my PDS program through OCCS. I felt God calling me to apply at OCCS and I am now blessed to be teaching 6th-8th grade math.
Family: I grew up not too far away from Orange City, in the small town of Carmel. My husband, Luke, and I are currently also living in Carmel. Luke works for a feedlot near Carmel, working with cattle and trucking. We enjoy being with family, seeing our friends, and being busy!
Faith Statement: OCCS is truly a special place to be able to teach at. I feel extremely blessed to be able to teach in a school with such supportive parents, administration, and staff. OCCS has such a unique culture and community and I am honored to be able to carry out my calling here at OCCS. I strive to educate students’ hearts and minds to build Kingdom servants. Together, as a classroom and school community, we are able to work together for Him. My deep hope for my students is that each student will develop their own personal relationship with the Lord and recognize themselves for who God has created them to be. I pray that my students have a firm foundation, rooted in Jesus Christ, so that they can accomplish His calling for them.
