Years at OCCS: 2016 to present

Education Background: BA in Elementary Education from Dordt College; Reading endorsement credits from Viterbo University

Professional Experience: From 1999-2000 I taught 3rd grade at Iowa Christian Academy in Des Moines.  I then taught first grade for one year at Ontario Christian School in Ontario, California.  From 2001-2004 I taught 4th grade, Kindergarten, and Pre-K at Iowa Christian Academy.   After staying home with our children I returned to the classroom to teach 2nd grade at Des Moines Christian School from 2013-2015.  I have now been teaching 4th grade at OCCS since 2016.

Family: My husband Ryan and I live in Orange City with our four children.  Ryan is the Director of I.T. for the MOC-FV school district.  We enjoying camping, spending time at the lake, visiting with family, and watching movies with our two sons and two daughters. 

Faith Statement: I am passionate about Christian education, and I love teaching at OCCS! Every day I get to show my students what an amazing world that we live in and what a Mighty God we serve.  Not only do I get to teach them head knowledge, but also heart knowledge.  It is my prayer that my students leave my class each day knowing that He has made them special and wanting to be the hands and feet of Jesus to those around them.
