Years at OCCS: 2013 to present

Education Background: I received a BA in elementary education with a reading endorsement from Dordt University. I received my Masters in education with an emphasis in teacher leadership from Dordt in 2019.

Professional Experience: Beginning in 2009 through 2013, I taught a combination classroom of third and fourth grade at Ireton Christian School. I was also the girls volleyball and basketball coach during those years. This year will begin my fifteenth year of teaching and my eleventh year of teaching at OCCS. During my time at OCCS I have taught 4th grade, 5th grade, and 6th grade This year I will be teaching 5th grade math, social studies, Bible, and 6th computer.

Family: My husband Jeremy and I live here in Orange City. Jeremy is the principal at Akron High School in Akron, Iowa. We have four sons, all at OCCS this year. Our family loves to be outdoors and travel during the summer to visit our families in Illinois and Montana.

Faith Statement: I feel very blessed with the opportunity to not only teach, but also be a part of the OCCS community. Christian education has been an integral part of my upbringing and I love that I have the chance to help other families bring their children up in the same way. This is a job and a calling where I hope to help students learn academically while preparing them for a life of service for the Lord.
