Educational Background: I graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Elementary Education. I have endorsements in Reading, Social Studies, and Middle School Education. I also have a Masters of Education in Effective Teaching and Instructional Leadership from Buena Vista University.

Professional Experience: After graduating from Iowa State University, I began my teaching career at Gehlen Catholic. I first taught Transitional Kindergarten before moving to 5th and 6th grade. After seven years at Gehlen Catholic, I transitioned to Orange City Christian, where I have continued teaching in 5th or 6th grade ever since.

Family/Personal: I have 3 boys! Andrew is in fourth grade, Jonathan is in second grade, and Matthias is in Kindergarten.

Faith Statement: Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior. I believe Jesus is God, the living Word, who became flesh. He voluntarily atoned for my sins by dying on the cross and I believe He rose from the dead, ascended into Heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father. My faith is an essential part of my life. I believe the Bible is a gift from God that we can use to learn God's story. As a teacher at OCCS, I aim to model my faith through my words and actions.
