Years at OCCS: 2007-to present

Education Background: BA in elementary education with a reading endorsement from Dordt College.

Professional Experience: From 1999-2000 I taught Kindergarten at Hospers Christian School. Then from 2000-2003 I taught a combination class of 3rd and 4th grade at Hospers Christian. In 2007 I became the K-5 P.E. teacher and taught that for four years. This year I am in my first year as a fifth grade homeroom teacher. 

Family: My husband Nick and I live here in Orange City. Nick works at Noteboom Oil Co. as a sales manager and also spends time farming with his dad.  We have two boys ages 7 and 5 and we have one daughter age one. Our family loves camping, spending time outdoors, and spending time with friends and family.

Faith Statement: I feel so blessed to be a part of the OCCS staff. The christian atmosphere that surrounds us every day is such a blessing. I feel being a teacher is a high calling that God has given to me. Each day I am entrusted with others children to teach, guide, and help them grow stronger in their faith.
