Professional Experience: (26 years) 2 years teaching first grade at Rock Valley Christian School; 4 years teaching kindergarten at Ireton Christian School; 7 years as a teacher's aide, 1 year teaching first grade, 1 year teaching kindergarten and 11 years teaching K-5 resource room all at Orange City School

Family: My husband, Gervin, and I live on an acreage two miles south of Orange City.  Gerv's work involves livestock and crop production.  We have four children, four in-law children and six grandchildren: Sara (Harlan) Burggraaf, Jacey & Emmy; Gina (Joe) Poppema, Ella & Tyler; Lisa (AJ) Smit, Asaiah; Dan (Sarah) Bonnema, Lily.  We are very grateful for our children and grandchildren!  Our favorite passtime is spending time with our kids and grandkids!

Faith Statement:  It is my privilege and calling to work with students who have unique, individual combinations of talents and to help them learn to the best of their God given abilities.  I am called, as a teacher, to serve God by helping Christian parents in the teaching of their children.  My challenge, as a resource room teacher, is to help bring students together as one body in Christ, and help them accept and value each other as brothers and sisters in the Lord.  In Ephesians 4:16 we read, "From (Christ) the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its' work."
