Years at OCCS: 10 years

Educational Background:  BA from Dordt College

Professional Experience: I taught 3 years in  2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades at Mount Vernon Christian School in Mount Vernon, Washington.   I then taught 4 years in a  2nd and 3rd grade combination classroom at Sheldon Christian School in Sheldon, IA.  For the last 10 years I have been at OCCS, one year in 1st grade and 9 years in Kindergarten.

Family:  My husband, Rob, works at EZ-liner Industries in Orange City.  We have 3 children.  Noah is 12 and in 6th grade at OCCS, Chloe is 9 and in 4th grade at OCCS  and Isaac is 6 and will be with me in Kindergarten this year.

Faith Statement:  The reason I teach at OCCS is because this is where God is using me.  I am confident that the Lord has called me to teach and is using  me to train His children to be disciples for Him.  Christian Education gives children the knowledge, understanding, and appreciation of God's creation.  I am very fortunate to teach at school where teachers and parents work together to prepare students to humbly and obediently serve God and their neighbors.  I feel very blessed to be a teacher at OCCS.  It is a joy for me to be in the classroom with my students!
